As a Black American woman who travels a lot both internationally and domestically, I enjoy helping people be as prepared as they possibly can be before they go on a trip. Time off is precious and I know that planning for it can be overwhelming. I have visited 38 states and more than 70 countries. I'm an expert at planning the wrong way and I am passionate about sharing what I've learned so that you can make the most out of your travel experiences! Traveling with a friend can be a lot of fun! It can also be stressful if you don't talk about what you want out of the trip before you go. This episode talks through my vacation with a friend where I knew he was dealing with a lot of stress but I ignored the red flags because I wanted to travel! We didn't have the same expectations and I made myself miserable acting like everything was okay. I'll share what I learned with you so you can have avoid my mistakes!

As a Black woman, I know that there are people who feel that I should not be visiting their city, state, or country. It can be difficult when people are rude and say mean things to me. Fortunately, this is not common. Unfortunately, it is something I have had to deal with for my entire life. I am thankful that my experiences visiting places near and far are usually very positive! I make sure that I feel as safe as I can and that I do a little bit of research before I go. There is no way to promise that a racist experience won't happen in the future. I just do my best to enjoy my travels and not let the terrible actions of a few ruin my opportunities to explore the world!
